Overview of codec
A Codec is a computer program or device, which is used to encode or/and decode the signal or digital data stream. Codecs are used in video editing, streaming video and videoconferencing. The word codec has derived from the words compressor – decompressor or coder – decoder. There are many codecs for video, audio, fax and text.
